Dear friends & family,
Again a lot happened in little time. This morning we had a meeting with a coordinator of a big Belgian ONG. We talked a long time about all the things they do in Rwanda. That was very useful for the preparation of the disability training we will provide next week. He was very enthusiastic about our ideas, so our confidence about the success of the training is growing. 40 people are coming, during 3 days, to attend our training. We are really excited about that…

After the meeting we had the opportunity to visit a daycare centre for mentally (and lots of them also physically) disabled children. It was a half an hour drive to the centre, so we could also see a bit more of the environment of Kigali (the capital of Rwanda). The differences between rich and poor are shocking. It was really moving to see the circumstances in which a lot of people live. The daycare centre was simple, but clean with nice staff. The head of the centre was very proud of her team and the things they are doing there. She showed us everything (look at the pictures).

On our way back to Kigali we dropped by the primary school where Christine and Eric were teaching English. We spoke to some children who go to that school.
In general, there are so many impressions every day. By 9 pm we are all tired and go to sleep. We wake up at 6 every morning….
Rwanda is full of surprises. This morning for example, when Tineke was having a shower, the water disappeared! She was fully soaped. Luckily Floor and Elske entered her room. Floor could pull the water of the tub, she was standing in over her, to rince the soap of. So now when we take a shower, we stand in a tub, in case we need the water to get the soap of…. ;)
Other thing: if you go to a gas station, it’s always a surprise whether they have gasoline or not.

Well, as you can tell. Too much to write all down. We try to upload the pictures now. The connection is very slow, so we hope it works. They’ll give a better impression of our adventures here in Rwanda.

Love from us all.
